LA Rams 9, New York Jets 6: Fisherball’d

Yup.

Well, that was it, folks. That was the ultimate Fisherball.

The Los Angeles Rams beat the New York Jets on the road, 9-6, on the strength of their defense with a sprinkling of RB Just Todd Gurley and P Johnny Hekker.

This is how it’s supposed to look. And it looked pretty damn awful.

QB Case Keenum was 17/30 for 165 yards. That’s supposedly from an offensive gameplan that rookie Jared Goff isn’t ready to execute.

The Rams racked up another seven penalties including a hold from LT Greg Robinson on what would’ve been Gurley’s best run of the day.

And the Rams bungled all three red zone trips, including one from the first half that started at the 1-yard line and didn’t feature a single handoff to Gurley.

Look. It’s a win, and Rams fans are entitled to enjoy wins as much as any other team, but let’s not kid ourselves. We know #7and9bullshit when we see it. And we just saw it.
