The path to the 2017 NFL Draft rolls on.

The Red River Rivalry
The Red River Rivalry
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good stuff on tap today fam. I pulled out a couple of big matchups to check out today.

Here are the main games on the docket:

Texas (2-2) at* #20 Michigan (2-2) - 12:00pm ET, FS1

* Played at a neutral site - The Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas

This doesn’t carry any of the weight previous installments of the Red River Whatever have in recent years.

Don’t care. It’s still one of the biggest rivalries in sports, and it reshapes the Big XII power landscape every year. This year’s going to be no different.

A loss for Texas, and Charlie Strong is going to have to scrape to save his job. A loss for OU, and Bob Stoops may be on the hottest seat of his tenure in Norman since arriving in 1999.

The likely argument here is that this game doesn’t have a huge impact on the 2017 NFL Draft, but its impact on the conference and college football writ large will reverberate throughout future drafts to come in a big, big way.

#9 Tennessee (5-0) at #8 Texas A&M (5-0) - 3:30pm ET, CBS

Tons of NFL talent. Tons of immediate college football impact.

Tons of entertainment.

#1 Alabama (5-0) at #19 Arkansas (4-1) - 7:00pm ET, ESPN

Bama is entering a very, very difficult four-game stretch: at Arkansas, at Tennessee, home for A&M and then at LSU. Nick Saban doesn’t “do” trap games, but this would be a candidate for any other program.

#5 Washington (5-0) at Oregon (2-3) - 7:30pm, FOX

#23 Florida St. (3-2) at #10 Miami (4-0) - 8:00pm ET, ABC

We buying into Washington and Miami yet?

Washington gets a validation game today in Eugene with a soft schedule in front of them.

The Hurricanes are facing three ranked opponents in a row with an unranked Notre Dame to follow. If they can get through today, that could propel them through that stretch which would seat them in the ACC Championship if they can hold out a weak final run-in.

Arizona (2-3) at #24 Utah (4-1) - 10:00pm ET, FS1

UCLA (3-2) at Arizona St. (4-1) - 10:30pm ET, ESPN2

Who’s gonna come out of the Pac-12 South?

Arizona’s in a tailspin and can’t rely on pure talent to pull them out.

Utah has the talent on the other hand, but a loss at Cal last week suggests they’re not going to be able to get a through a road division schedule that just doesn’t help anything.

UCLA has lost both of their early season tests against Texas A&M and Stanford, but could settle in starting today with a huge intradivisional test. They’ve got the defensive talent and a young NFL-caliber QB in Josh Rosen.

ASU looked to be a legit candidate...before getting stomped in the Coliseum by a demoralized USC team who racked up a run of 34 unanswered points through the second and third quarters.

Oh my God...we have to take Colorado seriously, don’t we?

Pray, friends.
