The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Detroit Lions on the road in Week 6, and there’s a good chance they’ll be light on the defensive side thanks to our initial injury report:

Los Angeles Rams

Name POS Injury Wed. Status
Michael Brockers DT Hip DNP
William Hayes DE Ankle DNP
Trumaine Johnson CB Ankle DNP
Robert Quinn DE Shoulder DNP
Cody Wichmann G Ankle DNP

That’s the three defensive line starters not named Aaron Donald and your CB1 not to mention a starting guard. The impact here, obviously, could be huge. And suffice to say, it’s not hard to tie a direct correlation between the absence of those D-line starters in Week 5 and Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy’s season-high 150-yard performance on Sunday.

Here’s Detroit’s side:

Detroit Lions

Name POS Injury Wed. Status
Anquan Boldin WR Ankle DNP
Eric Ebron TE Ankle/Knee DNP
DeAndre Levy LB Knee/Quad DNP
Haloti Ngata DT Shoulder DNP
Theo Riddick RB Ankle DNP
Laken Tomlinson G Neck DNP
Dwayne Washington RB Ankle DNP
Ezekiel Ansah DE Ankle Limited
Don Carey S Ribs Limited
A'Shawn Robinson DT Shoulder Limited
Larry Warford G Hip Limited

That’s plenty for the Lions to have to deal with. Two running backs after Ameer Abdullah was placed on IR to start the year. Offensive firepower in TE Eric Ebron and WR Anquan Boldin. Offensive line support in the guards, Laken Tomlinson and Larry Warford. And three defensive linemen of their own...

Yeah, we’re gonna have to pay attention to the development of the injury report this week.
