St. Louis Rams: A Look Ahead At the 2016 Schedule

A pair of losses in the early slate of games in Week 17 has shaped the St. Louis Rams’ schedule for the 2016 season...

There were very few certainties heading into Week 17, if you’re the St. Louis Rams.  But a pair of early games have already helped shape the schedule for the Rams in 2016.

As a result of a 24-20 Detroit Lions win over the Chicago Bears [in Chicago] on Sunday, the third place team in the NFC West [Rams] will head to Detroit next season to take on the Lions; who finished in the same spot in the NFC North.

More pertinent, perhaps, heading into Week 17, would be the winner of the Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants game.  Again, the Rams are slated to face the team that finished in the same position in the NFC East.  That said, the Eagles’ 35-30 win over the Giants means Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., and company [Steve Spagnuolo and Craig Dahl] will head East [way East] to take on the Rams in 2016...in a game hosted by the Rams in London.

The Rams may, or may not, have narrowly missed an opportunity to play against the Sam Bradford-led Eagles.  Only the offseason will let us know what might’ve been.

But regardless, the Rams will host the Giants [in London] and play an away game [in Detroit] next season.  As for the remainder of the schedule...
