Not a huge surprise:
Fisher did say that he'll announce starting center after Wednesday's practice and that Todd Gurley will not play this week.

This coming during a press conference to, apparently, not announce the roster cuts:
Amazingly, Rams hold a press conference (w/Jeff Fisher) one-hour after final cuts are due into league, but refuse to discuss roster cuts.

In any case, we've set the basline for the readiness of RB Todd Gurley, the #10 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, with 8 days to the week one game against the Seahawks, Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher will wait another four days to appoint a starting center.
The obvious hinge for Gurley's readiness would be Week 6 with the Rams' bye week. Allowing Gurley to rest through the Rams' first five games would give them a full two-week window to prepare Gurley for his first game action.
Of more immediate impact are the questions at the RB position going into Week One. Tre Mason is less than 100% with a hamstring issue. Trey Watts is suspended the first four games. Malcolm Brown didn't make it past the 75-man.
The Rams could well be looking at Benny Cunningham and Isaiah Pead at RB for Week 1 without any moves bringing someone new in...
