Source says the final year of Nick Foles' extension (2017) can void based on performance. Value of the deal is more than $12m per year.

The Rams have their QB of the future, if just for the near future.
Nick Foles is now signed through a voidable 2017 season giving the Rams a solid combination at the top of the QB depth chart with rookie Sean Mannion offering potential out of the backup slot.
The move makes sense for the Rams to make now. If Foles is successful in 2015, they've locked up a quality QB for a few more years. If he struggles, he has 2016 to make good with Mannion looming in the background.
That puts the pressure on Foles to deliver sufficient performance in 2015.
