Per source, injury to #Rams CB EJ Gaines may be more severe than the team initially thought.

As of now, nothing totally set in stone regarding injury to #Rams CB EJ Gaines. But outlook isn't great. Getting 2nd opinion from specialist

#Rams very excited about Gaines going into Year 2. Allowed 9.6 yds/catch in '14, which = 7th best in NFL for CBs who played 25%+ of snaps.

Also, per @PFF, Gaines defended 10 passes as a rookie, the same number as Broncos elite CB Chris Harris.

Bear in mind, St. Louis Post-Dispatch Rams Reporter Jim Thomas said this after practice yesterday:
The issue w/CB E.J. Gaines is a foot, not a knee. That's why he's seeing foot/ankle specialist Robert Anderson.

The concern w/Gaines is that he might have plantar fascia issues.

I doubt we'll get any clarity during tonight's scrimmage at Lindenwood University, but I'd expect additional news before the Rams' first preseason game in Oakland a week from today.
Stay tuned.
