Coach Fisher announces @TG3II has been cleared for practice.
— St. Louis Rams (@STLouisRams) August 24, 2015
That is news.
RB Just Todd Gurley, the Rams' first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is a go. Gurley tore his ACL against Auburn on Nov. 15. Now just barely more than nine months later, the Rams medical staff has cleared that ACL for full practice.
The Rams have, though, entered the private section of the training camp schedule. If you were hoping to head to Rams Park to see Gurley in action, you'll need to rely on media reports and the team's own PR feeds. They'll be back on the field for practice tomorrow.
Until then, it's a positive sign of Gurley's rehabilitation. He may not be game-ready, and Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher has vowed to keep him out of any preseason game action. Still, it's an encouraging sign that Gurley will be available early on in the 2015 NFL Season.
If he's as good as we all hope and the Rams offense is anywhere near what we've seen in the first two games of the preseason, they're gonna need him.
