2015 NFL Preseason St. Louis Rams vs. Oakland Raiders Live Thread

It's time for football.

Here we go.

The St. Louis Rams 2015 season begins tonight with their preseason opener in California against the Oakland Raiders.

Rams-Raiders Preview Reads: Five Bold Predictions Ten Players To Watch

On offense, it's the first real look at the newborn offensive line. Assuming Rodger Saffold is health for week one of the regular season, he'd be the only returning offensive lineman from the Rams' 2014 week one starting line. Getting the cast of characters on the line settled will be crucial to getting off to a hot start, something the Rams desperately need if they're going to make good on the promise and potential this depth chart offers.

Defensively, there's time to gel. They'll need the preseason to get everything worked out in terms of rotation with DT Nick Fairley and OLB Akeem Ayers being added to last year's starters, muddled even further with the mid-season trade for S Mark Barron. There's also a question of depth with a few spots perhaps up for contention on the 53-man roster.

That being said, special teams unit snaps will be a premium tonight. Every UDFA knows the best shot they have at sticking around through camp will be to contribute when called upon with the specials.

In the end, it's the first go round. It's going to answer a few questions, likely raise many more and give us a handful of new fan favorites to track in camp.

Pray that injuries don't factor in, and let's see who makes a name for themselves with their first shot at an NFL career.
