St. Louis Rams linebacker, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, is coming into a interesting point in his career.
He is the veteran presence in the linebacking corps. He also has the most experience under Jeff Fisher's/Gregg Williams' defense.
Yet, Dunbar's defensive snaps have diminished over the last two seasons. A byproduct of less snaps is his mediocre stat-line.
Roster Battle
Jo-Lonn is technically in a roster battle with newcomer Akeem Ayers. It probably is nothing more than coach speak. Dunbar is not an every down player anymore. He his more adept against the run than coverage or pass rushing at this point of his career.
Expectations
Jo-Lonn's knowledge and experience in the defense still makes him a valuable asset. His value, however, is greater as a super-sub. Jo-Lonn can fill in admirably at all three linebacker positions.
Chances of Making Final 53-Man Roster (9/10)
Even though it is almost a given Jo-Lonn is going to lose his starting job, he is still a vital cog in the linebacker corps. He is a shoe-in to be included in the final 53-man roster, unless he is injured.
