Mr. Irrelevant in the 2013 NFL Draft, tight end Justice Cunningham was released by his draftparents, the Indianapolis Colts, in training camp prior to his rookie season. The Rams would sign Cunningham late in 2013 and stash him on the practice squad. In 2014, though, Cunningham's physical tenacity and blocking acumen were enough to get him a spot on the 53-man roster. Though activated for nearly the first dozen games of the season, Justice fell out of favor down the stretch.
Can he revive the early season favor, or did the final games belie his lack of interest from the staff?
Roster Battle
The top three consist of Jared Cook, Lance Kendricks and Corey Harkey. Behind them lies a battle between Cunningam, Alex Bayer and Brad Smelley (roster preview). One thing I guess could complicate things is if we're counting Harkey as a tight end as he's listed on the official roster, it might be prudent to throw Zach Laskey's name in here (roster preview). With Haskey as team's primary "fullback", that may be the role Cunningham occupied as a backup without ever actually filling in there.
Expectations
To be fair...well, here's Justice Cuningham's Wikipedia page:
Playing at South Carolina and in the NFL just doesn't warrant a mention, I guess.
Chances of Making Final Roster (4/10)
It's me, but I think the last month of the season was the telling part.
