Not a good look for Trey Watts.
An undrafted free agent rookie in 2014, Watts featured regularly in special teams support after a bit of a surprise roster addition. He was able to pick up spot duty as a running back with 7 carries.
His 2015 outlook was always going to be a bit murkier.
The Rams added a running back to the top of the depth chart in first-round selection Todd Gurley. Isaiah Peadshould be healthy to challenge for a spot at the back end of the position depth chart. Throw in two more UDFA RBs from the 2015 NFL Draft in Texas' Malcolm Brown and Texas St.'s Terrence Franks and Watts was already looking a battle to make the 53-man cut.
Today's news doesn't help that at all.
