2015 NFL Mock Draft: Mayock Showers Rams With Flowers On Draft Eve's Waning Hours To Bolster O-line Power

New, comments

NFL Network's NFL Draft guru dropped his first mock with less than 24 hours to go to the 2015 NFL Draft.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Late in the game, a hero rode into town. Mayock was his name, and he brought his mock with him to welcome the sunset.

# Team Pick POS School
1 Tampa Bay Jameis Winston QB Florida St.
2 Tennessee Marcus Mariota QB Oregon
3 Jacksonville Dante Fowler Jr. DE Florida
4 Oakland Amari Cooper WR Alabama
5 Washington Leonard Williams DL USC
6 New York Jets Kevin White WR West Virginia
7 Chicago Trae Waynes CB Michigan St.
8 Atlanta Bud Dupree DE Kentucky
9 New York Giants Brandon Scherff OT Iowa

He strode with confidence into the town square with knowledge and experience. This was no Monday cowboy:

Ereck Flowers (OT, Miami)

I think St. Louis would like to trade down. However, Flowers is a body mover; a developmental top-level player.

It's a bit of an oddball, but it does somewhat close the loop that started with ESPN's Todd McShay's first mock in mid-December that had the Rams taking Flowers. Anything's possible, so put aside your impossibility clauses.

One thing of note post-10, though taking Flowers would render it moot, is the run on OTs late in the 1st. Mayock has Andrus Peat, D.J. Humphries and T.J. Clemmings from 23-25 followed by Jake Fisher at 28 and Cedric Ogbuehi at 29. If the Rams go elsewhere at 10 looking for linemen thereafter, a run like that might give them pause...or motivation to move up.

In any case, we're close friends. Sidle up to the saloon. Grab one. We're almost there.
