2015 TST Community NFL Mock Draft: Titans Make It Back-To-Back QBs To Start The Draft

With the first pick in the community mock in the bank, KENTOG keeps it rolling:

#2, Tennessee - Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

Easy EASY pick here for the Titans. The QB situation is abysmal and while the OL isn't great, it's at least average. If Mettenburger is healthy I may sit Mariota till I'm positive he has the system down, but this rebuild begins in earnest with the #2 QB in the draft.

I don't think it's really all that easy, chiefly because I don't think their QB situation is all that abysmal. If it truly were, then sitting Mariota wouldn't be an option. I'm also a bit uncomfortable with the fit, as Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar alluded to in the SBN Blogger Mock:

The frequent pick for Tennessee has been USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams, because there are questions about Mariota’s fit in Whisenhunt’s offense. If Tennessee is willing to cater its offense to Mariota’s skills, then it’s a smart pick. If they force Mariota to solely play in the pocket, it’s questionable.

Of course, the bottom line here remains what Jimmy Morris from Music City Miracles said in when he submitted his Mariota selection in the SBN Blogger Mock: until you have your QB position figured out, you have nothing.

KENTOG's similar pick at least has them taking a shot at doing just that.
