Well, we've gotten to our first NFC West rival. recently_relo'd steers the 49ers war room:
#15, San Francisco 49ers - Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
The Niners (and Colin Kaepernick) need weapons and a big target will help a QB who struggles with accuracy. DGB should match up well with physical NFC West defenses, although it may take him a few games to get into the swing of things in the NFL. The presence of Anquan Boldin should help his learning curve if he is willing to listen and learn.
The Niners could have gone defense here with the loss of Willis and Borland and an aging D Line, but the top ILB and DT prospects were off the board. The secondary needs help but there aren’t any game-changing CBs available at this point without reaching. It’s also a little early to take a chance on either of the two running backs to replace Gore, who is their biggest offensive loss of the offseason. It looks like the offense will be in Kaepernick’s hands this year and getting him help early makes sense.
Makes plenty of sense. With all the attrition this offseason, San Fran could go any numbers of ways. The SBN Blogger Mock pick was Texas DT Malcom Brown via David "Fooch" Fucillo from Niners Nation, but it was a bit of a shruggie pick. San Fran is likely going to have a couple players drop to them that we've seen mocked pretty highly. They should get a chance to sit tight and let the draft come to them. Whether or not they'll trust their immediate WR production to Dan Kadar's top boom or bust prospect in the draft.
