Here's the official statement from the team on the latest roster move:
ST. LOUIS - The Rams have released veteran offensive linemen Jake Long and Scott Wells, the team announced Monday.
"Jake and Scott brought experience and professionalism to our program and we appreciate their commitment and hard work," Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. "Both of them overcame injury difficulties and provided leadership for our younger players. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for both of them."
Wells joined the Rams as a free agent in 2012. He started 35 games in three seasons with the club, including all 16 in 2014. Long signed with St. Louis prior to the 2013 season and made 22 starts during his two seasons with the Rams. He missed nine games last season due to a torn ACL.
