Rams Release OT Jake Long, C Scott Wells

The Rams have released two veteran O-linemen as they look to restructure their front five going into 2015.

Long joined the team via free agency prior to the 2013 season to much fanfare. While he filled in at left tackle relatively well in 2013, it wasn't enough to dissuade the Rams from selecting Greg Robinson with the #2 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft as the long-term solution at the premier position on the offensive line.

Wells preceded Long as a free agency pickup a year prior. He too, a heralded pickup, lost time to injury especially in that first season as a Ram back in 2012.

The Rams now head into free agency with just two expected starting offensive linemen in LT Greg Robinson and LG Rodger Saffold.

Stay tuned here at TST to see how the Rams manage the free agency period and the 2015 NFL Draft to address the remaining spots along the offensive line.
