Well, that didn’t take long. Earlier this morning, St. Louis Post-Dispatch beat writer Jim Thomas tweeted that free agent center/guard Tim Barnes was headed for a short trip to Kansas City to visit with the Chiefs.
The Rams are in dire need of help along the offensive line, and one had to wonder why Barnes, who’s been with the team since 2011 had not been re-signed. Thomas had an answer for us.
After visit to Kansas City, free agent guard/center Tim Barnes agrees to terms w/Rams. He is expected to sign Tuesday.

It's a one-year deal for Barnes, w/maximum value of $1 million. He provides depth at center and guard, and could compete for starting spot.

Given the need, the Rams were probably wise to re-sign Barnes. He certainly isn’ the answer to their offensive line woes, but should aid the team in building some much needed depth at positions of need.
