Random Ramsdom: March 16: St. Louis Rams - The Calm After The Storm

Well, that was one helluva first week of Free Agency for the Rams. The Rams needed to make some major moves this offseason. They haven't disappointed thus far. Week 2 of Free Agency should see the Rams attempting to shore up their Swiss cheese-like offensive line. Who would have thought my "financial foursome" would be replaced by the "fearsome fivesome"? Stay tuned!

So THAT's why all the attention paid to the DL. The 2nd hardest thing then must be stopping the pass rush in the 4th quarter. Hence the need to pay serious attention to developing the offensive line:

We're all excited as well Nick!:

I'm happy the Rams re-signed him:

Maybe a late afternoon workout if nothing else to do?...we need you in perfect shape for nailing the leagues' QB's:

The fifth first round pick on the Rams' defensive line...the Fearsome Fivesome:

Foles pep rally turns into inquisition on Bradford trade: St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Jim Thomas seems pretty upset about the way the Rams handled the trade of Sam Bradford for Nick Foles:

"Credibility and trust are important in the player-coach relationship, and some players may be wondering the next time Fisher or Snead lavishes praise on a player: "Does he really mean it?"

The Legend Of Brandon Scherff: Sports Illustrated MMQB

Could the Rams be looking at Brandon Scherff as a possible addition to the offensive line in the upcoming NFL Draft?

St. Louis Rams are making a playoff push: Ramblin' Fan

Are the Rams capable of being a playoff contender this year? If they fix the OL, the answer would be yes in my estimation.

Joe Barksdale. Justin Blalock. Stefen Wisniewski. Will any of the three end up as St. Louis Rams this week?

St. Louis Rams Weekly Salary "Re-Cap"

The Rams currently have close to $2.5 million in available salary cap space, with all 2015 financial obligations taken into consideration. I'll be continuously updating the Rams' salary cap situation (here and here) as further transactions are completed.

Draft Prospect Highlight Reel: WR - Amari Cooper - Alabama

Why the Rams won the Bradford-Foles trade:

Shane Gray grades the big trade in four different areas: Compensation, salary cap, injuries issues and performance perspective.

Roster questions linger for Rams: St. Louis Post-Dispatch

His inaccurate salary cap commentary aside, Jim Thomas accurately notes the problems the Rams face with their offensive line, and the state of flux at the quarterback position.

No guarantees Rams are done adding quarterbacks: ESPN NFL Nation

Will the Rams select a QB in the 2015 NFL Draft. It may be prudent to do so. Nick Foles, Austin Davis and Case Keenum are all Free Agents after the 2015 season.

Britt's return to Rams best for both sides: ESPN NFL Nation

There was little doubt in my mind Kenny Britt would re-sign with the Rams. There's a lot of talk about the Rams selecting a WR at No.10 in this years draft. With Britt, Austin, Givens, Quick and Bailey, the Rams may not even consider selecting one that early. I would rather they trade down and select a versatile OL like La'el Collins with the selection.

1964 - Paul Hornung and Alex Karras are re-instated by the NFL after serving 1-year suspensions.

1996 - Mike Tyson TKO's Frank Bruno in the third round to win the heavyweight championship.

Chip Kelly is a madman, or is he a mad genius?: FiveThirtyEight

"I like to imagine that Chip Kelly and Les Snead were just chillin’ and Kelly was like, "Dude, crazy hypothetical that just popped into my head: What would happen if we just right out and switched quarterbacks?"

Now, if the Rams could have another day like last Friday, this time involving offensive linemen...

Fairley and Ayers good fits for Rams: St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Bernie Miklasz leaves us with this thought for the week:

"Now that we've offered some praise here, it's time to ask the question again: when will the Rams restock their offensive line? Maybe they're planning to win low-scoring games in 2015 and are lining up extra defensive help."
