The St. Louis Rams have fired Offensive Coordinator Frank Cignetti, Jr. and are promoting Assistant Head Coach/Offense Rob Boras to take his position:
The #Rams announced they fired OC Frank Cignetti. Assistant head coach Rob Boras, who was second choice as OC, takes over.

The Rams' offense currently ranks next-to-last in scoring and yards in what was Cignetti's first season as OC. Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher promoted Cignetti in March preferring to stick with an in-house option to maintain continuity with the offense of recent seasons under Fisher. Cignetti had been the Rams' QB Coach under the previous offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer.
Rams fans might remember Boras was part of the promotion wave back in March when Cignetti was made OC over Boras in what was essentially a two-horse race. Boras went from Tight Ends Coach to Assistant Head Coach For Offense.
