JOHNNY MANZIEL RAMS RUMOR ALERT SIREN
Ok, obviously without any kind of timestamp on this, it's just silly Schefter. What is "at some point?" I mean, that could certainly mean when he was drafted. And that doesn't really suggest any kind of likelihood in terms of immediate action in the near future. Draft season is different. You've got picks. You have to explore possibilities. But mid-season management is something altogether different.
This is probably just Schefter speaking extemporaneously and citing some past associations as a generalized effect of Manziel's standing from a skill set perspective as he continues to lose favor among the Browns and head coach Mike Pettine.
THE ST. LOUIS RAMS ARE GOING TO SIGN JOHNNY FOOTBALL IN A MOVE OF OBVIOUS DESPERATION. CLEARLY, THE COACHING STAFF ARE FURIOUS AT NICK FOLES' INABILITY TO MOVE THE BALL DOWNFIELD AND FORCED CASE KEENUM TO SELF-CONCUSS IN ORDER TO PUT THIS BALL IN MOTION. EXPECT MANZIEL TO SIGN WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS AND SAVE JEFF FISHER'S JOB AND BY THE WAY WE ARE NOT MATHEMATICALLY OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS JUST YET JUST SAYING.

Schefter made the comments in reference to an article he wrote regarding Manziel possibly heading to the Dallas Cowboys on the Dan Patrick Show (embedded below), but here's the core pullquote regarding the Rams:
When Johnny Manziel was coming out, the St. Louis Rams did an awful lot of background work into him. Considered drafting him. Wisely went with Aaron Donald instead. The Rams have not solved their quarterback issues, so the Rams become a potential landing spot...
...Now again, you're just speaking to people and we're adding one and one and it equals two, but those are the three spots that make the most sense for Johnny Manziel after the season: Dallas, St. Louis, San Francisco. Somebody will roll the dice.
