Just 120 minutes remain in the St. Louis Rams' 2015 season. Half of those will elapse at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington, today.
After 14 games, the Rams have amassed a 6-8 record and sit in third place in the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks, whom the Rams beat in Week 1, climbed out of a 2-4 hole to put up a 9-5 record thus far and are headed back to the playoffs. That's, ultimately more important than today's result. Or Week One's. Since the Seahawks lost to the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 while the Rams were on a bye, Seattle has gone 7-1 while St. Louis has gone 4-5.
And yet here are the Rams with a chance to go 2-0 against what is clearly a better overall team by showing that over the course of the 120 minutes during which they faced each other, the Rams had their number.
Fisherball is built on inconsistency, the moments of showing fleeting superiority flanked by overwhelming disappointment.
Just 120 minutes remain.
Just enough to make it sting.
