The St. Louis Rams have finally placed DE Robert Quinn on IR due to a back injury:

The fifth-year DE has battled injuries for much of the year racking up just 13 tackles and five sacks. From 2012-14, the two-time Pro Bowler and 2013 All-Pro defensive line leader was the star on the Rams' stellar defensive line totaling 103 tackles and a whopping 40 sacks. Whether because of Quinn or not, the defense struggled much more in his absence than with him around. Despite the presence of talents along the line and a windfall of localized draft picks, the Rams defense ranks 12th in points surrendered and 19th in yards allowed.

The Rams announced a week ago they were shutting down Quinn and S T.J. McDonald for the season due to needed surgeries.

Quinn signed a contract extension last year ensuring he remains a Ram through the 2019 season.
