Per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, St. Louis Rams CB Lamarcus Joyner will not be suspended:
#Rams DB Lamarcus Joyner won’t be suspended for the blow to the head of #Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater, I’m told. Could be fined.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 9, 2015
If I'm being honest, I'm not sure how Joyner avoided a suspension for this other than perhaps some testimony:
That's just a vicious, late, unnecessary hit. Period. I'm all down for the physicality of Fisherball, but if that was my quarterback, I'd be just as heated as Vikings fans who called it a "cheap shot." Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer himself was none too pleased, taking aim directly at Rams Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams. Former Patriots safety and notorious cheap shot and dirty football expert Rodney Harrison weighed in relating a barely tangential and circumstantial story about Jeff Fisher.
In the end, it's another bullet for opponents to point to on the Jeff Fisher/Gregg Williams resume to push the "dirty/cheap" reputation.
