St. Louis Rams RB Trey Watts has been suspended indefinitely after violating the league's substance abuse policy for the second time this season.
The second-year pro was suspended for the first four games this season after initially violating the policy back in May. Once Watts was reinstated, the team briefly released him from the 53-man roster before reactivating him not long thereafter. With this second violation, he's in for a long road ahead.
Of course the larger issue at hand when you're looking at repeat incidences is the personal side rather than the professional one. While on one hand the Rams are unlikely to stay wanting for his services with rookie starlet RB Todd Gurley tearing it up and a stable of competent talents behind him, the bigger concern is for Trey Watts' well-being.
Here's hoping he gets the help he needs in whatever fashion for whatever he's dealing with to get things in order on a personal level.
