The St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot Tuesday evening in Miami. Multiple NFL reporters have reported the shooting, in which Bailey was shot twice in the head. According to the reports Bailey was in the car with members of his family when the shooting occurred.
A Rams source confirmed to me that Stedman Bailey was involved in shooting incident & suffered a head wound. Not considered life-threatening

Bailey is currently in stable conditioning and will be undergoing surgery Wednesday morning.

The Rams have released an official statement on the situation:
We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.

Rams WR Stedman Bailey is out of surgery according to Jeff Fisher. Bailey is resting in ICU after what Fisher said was a 4-6 hour procedure.

Fisher didn't have many new details on Bailey but perhaps stating obvious, he did call it "highly unlikely" Bailey plays again this year.
