St. Louis Rams At Arizona Cardinals: RB Todd Gurley Up For Week 4 FedEx Ground Player Of The Week, Pepsi Rookie Of The Week (UPDATED)

The Rams' star rookie running back is up for some silverware for his Week 4 performance.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

With his dominating fourth quarter performance in the St. Louis Rams' 24-22 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Rams rookie RB Just Todd Gurley is one of three nominees for the Week 4 FedEx Ground Player Of The Week Award.

Gurley finished with 146 yards on 19 carries without any touchdowns to cap his effort. The key was that 106 of those yards, and nine of those carries, came in the final period as the Rams scratched to hold on to their 17-12 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Gurley's up against New York Jets RB Chris Ivory and Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett.

Ivory powered the Jets over the Miami Dolphins in London en route to a 27-14 win on the back of his 29-carry, 166-yard showing.

Forsett had the stage last Thursday as the Ravens downed the Pittsburgh Steelers, 23-20. His 27 carries and 150 yards helped the Ravens get back in the game late and ultimately win in overtime (though K Josh Scobee's two missed field goals certainly affected the game's outcome as well as his own employment...).

So go vote for JTG for his first career award nomination as a St. Louis Ram!

(UPDATED at 1:42pm ET)

And somehow I totally missed it, but Gurley's also up for the Week 4 Pepsi Rookie Of The Week Award.

Also in contention:

  • San Diego Chargers K Josh Lambo: Hit all three of his field goal attempts including the game-winner in San Diego's 30-27 win over the Browns.
  • Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson: Just 31 yards on 8 carries, but did damage in the passing game with 85 yards on 9 receptions including a TD.
  • Baltimore Ravens OLB Za'Darius Smith: The first two sacks of his career came on Thursday Night Football in the Ravens' big win over the Steelers.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon: Shouldered the load with 22 carries for 105 yards in the Jags' tough 16-13 loss to the Colts in OT.

So get your rookie vote in for JTG in as well as for the best ground performance.
