2015 St. Louis Rams: DE Chris Long Reportedly "Doubtful" For Week 7

The veteran Rams defensive end sounds like he could be sidelined against the Browns.

Just when you thought the Cleveland game looked in the bag...

St. Louis Rams DE Chris Long, the veteran defensive leader of the Rams' powerful front seven, looks like he'll miss Week 7 with a banged up knee.

RotoWire is passing over the Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas'  reporting that Long is "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Browns. All heads turn to William Hayes, who has done a great job spelling Long this season. The drop off shouldn't be huge for the Rams' defense, which currently ranks #3 (tied with N.E.) in quarterback sacks.

Still, having the team leader/rolling-ball-o'-butcher knives on the field would've been nice...especially with the memory of last year's Long-less line and how mightily it struggled for the first month of the season and more after Long went down in the season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Here's hoping that if Long is indeed out on Sunday, the 2015 Rams defensive line fares better.
