More Monday mockery. Yall know the deal. Let's take a look at the top 32.
# | Team | Pick | POS | School |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Tampa Bay | Jameis Winston | QB | Florida St. |
2 | Cleveland | Marcus Mariota | QB | Oregon |
3 | Jacksonville | Leonard Williams | DL | USC |
4 | Oakland | Amari Cooper | WR | Alabama |
5 | Washington | Brandon Scherff | OT | Iowa |
6 | New York Jets | Randy Gregory | DE | Nebraska |
7 | Chicago | Dante Fowler | DE | Florida |
8 | Atlanta | Shane Ray | DE | Missouri |
9 | New York Giants | La'el Collins | OT | LSU |
It's an interesting issue. Two tackles off the board, two QBs and one receiver. Those conditions might take off the Rams' legitimate top two off their board. But if so, Kadar offers a backup in a tackle we've seen before:
Ereck Flowers (OT, Miami)
This continues to be a rough spot for the Rams to be picking. Maybe one of these mocks will have the Rams move off of 10. That's not to say anything negative about Flowers, though. He profiles as a starting left tackle in the NFL.
The last time we saw Flowers to the Rams was Todd McShay's mock back in mid-December at which time we were picking 12th. The idea of Flowers as a potential 10th pick isn't all that wild. Plus, we've still got the Senior Bowl and combine coming up so the reports of where teams actually have these guys on their boards is going to make some unthinkable situations less so.
As for Flowers, he's an interesting prospect. I'm setting up a queue of guys to go back and watch some tape on. If we keep seeing him pop up, I'll have to move him up.
More than anything though, we're seeing the solidification of the Rams' going OT at 10.
