It's no secret that the Los Angeles market will be filled with one - possibly two - NFL teams in the next few years. The three teams commonly linked to LA are the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams. The NFL has, and will continue to, dictate the process. Roger Goodell has already used his almighty powers to declare that no team will be in LA next year. That gives the NFL a year to figure the situation out. And the Chargers may make this already complicated situation a messy legal battle as well.
An unnamed San Diego official has stated that a potential Rams to LA move "would generate significant political and legal controversy." (read: San Diego will likely pursue a legal battle with the NFL)
With the NFL wanting two teams in LA, this could work out for everyone involved. But this proves problematic if any team thought that they had an 'in' to the LA market.
