Lions-Giants, Chargers-Cardinals: Monday Night Football Open Thread

A bi-coastal double dipping of Monday Night Football closes out the first week of the 2014 NFL season.

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

We got a double heaping of MNF going on right now. Here's what we're looking at:

Giants-Lions

Well, had I been writing this on Friday I'd suggest the impact here regards the potential playoff seeding. Obviously after yesterday's performance, that looks like a subject we don't necessarily need to discuss this week...in any case, the Rams play the Giants in week 16. Plus, Eli Manning is always fun to watch if you enjoy chaos as much as I do. One other note: Ndamukong Suh is likely to head into free agency after this season. As one of the best DTs in the game and set to turn just 28 in January, he's going to make a ton. Here's to hoping he ends up in the AFC.

Cardinals-Chargers

This one obviously has more import regarding the Rams. Arizona gets their season underway against a Charger team...they played just more than a week ago. I can't remember ever seeing two teams play each other in the last game of the preseason and then in week 1. Weird. In any case, this time around it's not about roster decisions. For those of you on the West Coast, this should be solid prime time viewing against two teams on the Rams' schedule...both who feature in the OOP.

Monday Night Football. Joy.
