When the Dallas Cowboys come to the Edward Jones Dome for the week three match-up, they bring with them one of the most efficient scoring machines in the NFL in Dan Bailey. Bailey is a product of the Oklahoma State where he hit 79% of his field goals and 99% of his extra points over a four year career.
It's not hard to see why Bailey is making a historic salary for a kicker - $22.5 million smackers for seven years. Bailey has had some of the most accurate seasons in NFL history. All told, Bailey has hit 94 field goals in his career, plus 127 extra points, which equals out to 409 points over just three years and two games.
Those numbers are just ridiculous! Even if cheering for the kicker isn't your thing, one has to recognize talent when he sees it. Sunday, Ram fans will be crossing their fingers and toes hoping that the game doesn't come down to Bailey connecting on a field goal. If it does, the Rams better hope T.J. McDonald has a repeat of last week's game against the Buccaneers, where he blocked a field goal and a punt. Last year Bailey was money out to 50+ yards, only missing twice all season.
Hey defense! Keep this guy quiet, will you? Go Rams!
