Rams roster cuts 2014: Team announces 75-man roster moves

Teams have to go from 90 to 75 players on the roster by the end of the day Tuesday. We'll be tracking the Rams roster moves here.

Update: The Rams have finished making their first round of cuts. The roster now sits at 75 players.

75-man roster cuts

Here's the official list from the team.

P Bobby Cowan; T R.J. Dill; WR Jordan Harris; LS Jorgen Hus; FB Kadeem Jones; LB Johnny Millard; WR T.J. Moe; T D.J. Morrell and LB Pat Schille

Roster moves announced Tuesday:

QB Sam Bradford and OL Demetrius Rhaney were placed on injured reserve.

Safety Matt Daniels and DE Sammy Brown were released.

The St. Louis Rams had other things to worry about over the weekend with the injury to Sam Bradford and a long list of other hurt players from Saturday's exhibition win. But that doesn't change the looming deadline for teams to trim their rosters from 90 to 75 players by the end of the day Tuesday, Aug. 26.

This first wave of roster cuts is usually reserved for players on the far fringes of the roster, with a few exceptions to give the team backups at key positions in their fourth preseason game.

More than a few NFL teams have already made a handful of cuts. And you can expect a flurry of announcements over the next 24 hours.

The Rams haven't gotten down to business yet because of the afore mentioned concerns, but they're clearly planning for it. You could tell that from some of the surprise snap counts in Saturday's preseason game.

Isaiah Pead has been placed on injured reserve, and that will count for one of the Rams moves to get down to 75. You can expect the same with Sam Bradford, even though he hasn't been placed on IR just yet.

You should also keep an eye on players' Twitter feeds (use this handy list) since sometimes they break the news themselves.

We'll update this post as the Rams make cuts.
