Isaiah Pead was injured on a kick return in the first quarter against the Green Bay Packers. He was helped off the field and later carted off into the locker room. It looked like a series leg injury.
The Packers were kicking off after their first score. Pead had the ball and was on his way down the field when his feet got tripped up. He suffered a non-contact injury. There was no word on his status as of the end of the first quarter.
This hurts Pead's chances of making the final roster. Of course, if the injury is serious, he could spend the season on the injured reserve list, effectively getting a mulligan on what was shaping up to be an uphill climb to make the final roster. If Pead can't be a contributor on special teams, it won't help his chances either.
But at this point, we're just hoping Pead's injury is minor.
