Injuries and surprise starters
Scott Wells sat for the second day in a row at camp. That put Barrett Jones in the spotlight as the team's starting center.
Jake Long was out today, at least for the 11-on-11 work. That's consistent with what Fisher said, that Long would be limited to individual drills while he recovers from the ACL tear he suffered in Week 16 last season.
Trumaine Johnson and Emory Blake left practice early with what look to be minor ailments. We'll have an update on their status soon.
Rookie safety Mo Alexander got some work with the starting defense.
This defense is good
No, there are no pads yet, but reports about the defense are just overwhelming. Some samples ...
That defensive front is quick, Sam was swarmed instantly #RamsCamp

Quick with another nice catch in traffic, Bradford has been using size to his advantage in these 11 on 11s #RamsCamp

Stedman Bailey is on fire. Best in camp so far. They are not treating him like someone who's missing time.
— Tyler Bishop (@TylerBishop) July 26, 2014
#Rams camp thought 2: Stedman Bailey looked best among WRs, including a sweet double move on a poco route for a "TD"

Rookie report
Well, let's see, we've already read about what a beast Aaron Donald is, and he was working with the second team today ... the second team. Wait til he's starting.
Lamarcus Joyner had a pick today, which is good. He also had a little help making that happen from the depth on the defensive line.
Sam and Sims get pressure cause a fast pass from Hill that's picked off by Joyner! #RamsCamp

#Rams camp thought 5: O-linemen blocked each other up a steep hill among spectators. I do NOT want Greg Robinson backing into me.

E.J. Gaines had another interception today. Reports on his work in practice so far are impressive, and the Mizzou product could turn some heads once playing for real starts.
EJ Gaines covers up Chris Givens. Impressive.

Garrett Gilbert's going to be a bit of project, assuming he makes the roster.
The next throw from Gilbert was behind an open Givens but Davis drops the pick #RamsCamp

Position battles
Zac Stacy still has the edge in the running back competition, no surprise.
Stacy looks in great shape so far...already slipping the hole, darting #ramscamp

Don't rule out Mason. He's been slighted for his inexperience in the passing game, but he wasn't having trouble with that on Saturday.
Trey Watts out of Tulsa busts a long run.....Mason's hands look great so far #ramscamp
