Jo-Lonn Dunbar arrested in Miami

St. Louis Rams outside linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar was arrested on Sunday morning, and is being charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

The NFL offseason always makes front offices nervous due to the amount of free time the players have.  While some use this time to rest before the season starts, others find ways to get themselves in trouble. According to CBS Miami, linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar - and NBA free agent Donte Green - were arrested for battery and disorderly conduct outside of a South Beach club early Sunday morning.

Earlier this offseason, the Rams re-signed Dunbar to a two-year, $3.5 million contract, bringing back the veteran as one of their starting outside linebackers. Last year Dunbar was cut  from the team after it was announced he would face a 4-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performing enhancing substances.  He was re-signed shortly after serving the suspension though.

There haven't been any reports that the NFL will discipline Dunbar following his arrest. Head coach Jeff Fisher could have disciplinary plans for Dunbar, sending a stern message to the rest of the team. The Rams could also release Dunbar if they wanted to, as they’ve been rumored to be in discussions with former veteran linebacker Will Witherspoon.

My thinking is that they won't release Dunbar, but you never know. For more on Dunbar, Joesph Stanfill wrote about his role with the team in 2014.
