2014 NFL Draft Live Blog: Round 3

The Rams head into the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft with an offensive tackle, a defensive tackle and a roaming member of the secondary. Is it time to grab an offensive skill player?

SB Nation 2014 NFL Draft

Get on your grind.

The Rams roll into the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft with a key pick 11 slots in. We've seen a couple wide receivers slide out of contention, but there are plenty of fair targets left for the Rams to choose from.

The good thing is now that they've grabbed a safety, they can really lean into a heavier BPA approach. That's a good thing, but we should be cognizant of the reasons why most teams can't. You've got to force yourself to get better (see: Jaguars taking Bortles).

So let's see where we go from here. Plenty of wide receivers, cornerbacks, running backs....talent in general. Keep an eye out for an early round run. Do teams start sensing a position is drying up? Does one team trade up to catalyze or augment that run? And of course, it's the third round...which means someone is going to draft a player everyone thought was going in the sixth or seventh round....or go UDFA.

Pray it's not the Rams.
