Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Here we are folks...Ocho de Mayo.  A day in which you’re unnecessarily asked to work, and when the day is done, you head to the local pub to hammer a few green beers with your buddies.  It’s a day where we celebrate the democracy of...no...that’s not right.  What is today again?

Something is happening today...I’m sure of it.

Rams, 49ers Amongst Teams Set to Control the Draft:  NFL.com

What the Rams do with two first round picks tonight, at this point, is anyone’s guess.  Could they continue to pile more picks onto the heap of players they’ve already received from their trade with the Redskins in 2012?  Will they trade down with another team, owning their 1st round pick in 2015? So many questions, so few answers.  Regardless, they’re in a good place.  Time to capitalize!

At long last, the finish line is in sight for this marathon otherwise known as the NFL draft. Tonight the smoke clears and rumor becomes reality.  And then there was this...

Uncertain of which draft prospect you think is the best fit for the Rams?  Stats don’t tell the entire tale, but they’ve got plenty of options for the draft’s top players, with picks 2 and 13.  Here are some very intriguing stats from the 2014 season that may help sway you opinion...for the millionth time.

Rams’ Draft Preview for Offensive Line:  ESPN

There is no doubt that the Rams are going to pick an offensive lineman, probably more than one at some point in the draft. The only question is, how early? It's been easy to connect the Rams to players like Robinson and Matthews because they make sense for what the Rams need.

The Rams’ Ultimate Draft Primer:  Bleacher Report

In the Rams' ultimate draft primer, we will break down everything you need to know about the team's upcoming draft. We will look at a position-by-position big board, a round-by-round breakdown of the team's options and the latest draft buzz.

Rams Likely to Go Safe Route:  St. Louis Post-Dispatch

When the Rams turn in the name of the No. 2 overall selection tonight, I’d be surprised if it isn’t an offensive tackle. Greg Robinson, Jake Matthews, take your pick. But the Rams will probably play it safe. They will make a sensible, adult choice and buttress an offensive line in need of reinforcement. That would be my expectation, anyway.

Five Takeaways from the Fisher/Snead Draft Presser:  Ramblin’ Fan

Snead and Fisher were their usual selves, they didn’t give up to much or lean too much in one direction. Here’s what they had to say and what we can take away from it.

Better Know a Draft Pick - Greg Robinson:  Kissing Suzy Kolber

At this juncture of the offseason, having waited way too long for the NFL draft, light-hearted articles just simply don’t get the appreciation they should.  You think you know Greg Robinson...

Rams Draft Possibilities at No. 13:  All Voices

The St. Louis Rams will be very active early on Thursday night, as they have two draft picks in the top 13. With this No. 13 pick, they'll be looking for a player who can complement whoever they end up with at No. 2 overall. Here are some of their options...

There’s probably no better time to create your first mock draft...and that time is a day before the draft actually occurs.  It’s all about relevancy and accuracy.  Here’s a mock that meets half of those criteria...

Here’s to the Rams making decisions that best suit the needs of the team, and make them a force to be reckoned with in the very near future.  Let’s hope they’re taking a pair of soon-to-be Pro Bowl players this evening, and continuing to find serious value in their picks as the draft continues.  It’s draft day, folks.  Cheers!
