Jadeveon Clowney is coming to Rams Park. Hold your horses, this is just for a pre-draft visit. The South Carolina defensive end told reporters Wednesday at his pro day that he had a private visit and a workout scheduled with the St. Louis Rams.
Besides top 30 visit, Clowney tells @chronbriansmith he also has private workout scheduled with Rams.

It shouldn't really come as a surprise. Clowney's in play for the second pick in the draft, whether the Rams end up staying there or not. Teams consistently do their homework on players like that. The Rams also had a contingent on hand for Clowney's pro day workout, including GM Les Snead and DL coach Mike Wauffle, who conducted part of Clowney's workout.

If the Rams do end up staying in the second spot, Clowney is viable option. Jeff Fisher wasn't bashful about Clowney's ability during the owners meetings last week. He even threw out the old adage about "never having enough pass rushers."
But what about the fact that the Rams are already loaded with pass rushers? Taking Clowney only makes that group better, giving coaches more options for attacking offenses. There's the added benefit of contract flexibility down the road too. And there's that whole thing about never having enough pass rushers.
Here's the list of players, so far, who we know are visiting or have visited the Rams as part of their 30 private visits:
Clowney
Jake Matthews, OT
Greg Robinson, OT
Taylor Lewan, OT
Derek Carr, QB
Ryan Shazier, OLB
Stephon Tuitt, DL
Justin Gilbert, CB
