Since being drafted in 2008, only nine receivers have amassed more receiving yards than DeSean Jackson. In three of his six years in the NFL, he's topped 1,000 yards. He's also had six receiving TDs or more in three seasons.
He won't add to his career totals anymore as an Eagle, though.
The Eagles announced not long ago that they've released him outright after trade negotiations failed to bring in an acceptable offer.
While this would seemingly intrigue roughly 31 of the 32 teams in the league, the move comes on the heels of a troubling report from NJ.com, the online arm of multiple newspapers including the Star-Ledger and others, that alleges Jackson has significant ties to gang activities in Los Angeles. Those ties would include affiliation with one member who is currently awaiting trial on murder charges.
Alright. Take a breath. That's a lot to deal with all at once.
Obviously, there will be tons more to come. Jackson's been a very productive receiver as well as a return threat, so you'd expect significant backroom activity in the hours and possibly days ahead...to say nothing of the story itself.
And before you get your hopes up...
Eagles announce they are releasing WR DeSean Jackson. Rams sources don't sound like team is interested.
