St. Louis Rams' Playoff Hopes Aren't Dead...

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Yes, their playoff hope are alive, but saying they're on life-support wouldn't be a stretch either... But this is a time for miracles, right? It's Christmas time, and Santa could deliver what would have to be the coolest gift ever to Rams fans. Let's take a look at a way it could happen, using NFL.com's Playoff Predictor:

Week #14 - The 49ers get beat by Oakland, Arizona loses to Kansas City, and Seattle falls to Philadelphia. The Rams win in Washington...

Week #15 - San Francisco beats Seattle, and the Rams win against Arizona. Dallas loses to the Eagles, and the Vikings beat the Lions...

Week #16 - It gets a little tricky here... Washington stuns the Eagles, and Chicago finds a way to save season face by beating the Lions. Andrew Luck & Co. journey to Dallas and win. Rams beat the Giants, and Seattle wins against Arizona...

Week #17 - Dallas pulls a Romo-esk dive, losing to Washington. Both Green Bay and the Eagles win. Arizona puts a fork in the 49ers' season, and the Rams win in Seattle!

The final standing would look something like this:

The Playoff picture? How about this under the old Christmas tree?

Green Bay and Philadelphia would be the top seeds, with Seattle, Arizona, New Orleans and THE RAMS in the Wild Card round!

First, let me just say to all you pessimists out there that there's nothing funny in my coffee. This is America, dammit! We have a God-given right to dream of world peace, $1 gasoline, that Elvis is alive, and a Yugo - driven by yours truly - can win at Daytona.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! ... My alarm clock just went off! What happened? Why am I sitting at my computer in my Superman underwear? OK, I must have been dreaming, but what a dream, eh?
