14 carries.
117 yards.
Two touchdowns.
Three receptions.
47 yards.
Another touchdown.
That's a solid day's work. And for it, Tre Mason has been nominated for both the FedEx Ground Player of the Week and the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for week 13. Get ya vote on.
For the running back award, he's up against Eagles RB LeSean McCoy and Broncos sophomore C.J. Anderson. McCoy went for 159 on 25 carries with a touchdown in the Eagles 33-10 win over the Cowboys. Anderson was a workhorse for Denver in their 29-16 handling of Kansas City racking up 168 yards on 32 carries (!) with a receiving touchdown sprinkled on top. Fantasy-wise, Mason would walk away with this with his three touchdowns. You wonder though if McCoy's yardage total or Anderson's work rate ends up handing them the nod.
In the rookie award, he's competing against Colts WR Donte Moncrief, Jaguars CB Aaron Colvin, Packers WR Davante Adams and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater. Here, it's tough to argue against Mason. Moncrief put up two touchdowns and 134 receiving yards, though it came on just three catches. Colvin took a fumble to the house in the Jags' 1-point win over the Giants. Those would be the closest two, but Mason's performance was so complete and so influential, I'd be disappointed if he doesn't pick up his first rookie of the week award for this one.
So go give Tre a vote!
