Rams 14, Cardinals 31 - Another Second Half Meltdown Effectively Ends Rams' Season

The Rams were blown out in yet another second half, this one a 21-0 final 30 minutes, that ends the Rams' hopes for anything meaningful in 2014.

We can all fill in the blanks.

They're big enough.

This is a team that had a 14-10 lead going into the 4th quarter. The Cardinals had just lost their QB, a wily veteran who the had just signed to a contract extension. The Rams had shown enough of everything to suggest they'd be in position to close this game down and get a win.

They didn't. They failed in spectacular fashion. And just like that, the 2014 season becomes an exercise in killing time and figuring out where we'll draft in the 2015 NFL Draft.

One thing I'd say? I'm sad for yall who lean on excuses. Who point at the refs as the main reason the Rams lost this game. Who point to Austin Davis' poor play, a QB who couldn't make the roster in 2013 but is the best we can do in 2014, and don't blame Les Snead and Jeff Fisher.

It's all good. We'll be here next year. And if the past three years are any indication, it'll be Fisher, Snead, Williams and Schottenheimer manning the key spots convincing us that Sam Bradford is finally healthy and ready to go. And some of yall will buy it in bigger margins than you did going into 2014.

This isn't even a football season anymore. It's just a mirror. Take a look.
