Rams-Chargers: Initial Injury Report Shows Season Taking Toll On Veterans

New, comments

The NFL season is a multi-month challenge to the human body to endure incredible violence and pain. It's starting to have an effect...

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Wednesday injury report is always a key starting point in the road toward Sundays. Here's what we're looking at as we load up for the crucial contest coming up in San Diego:

Name POS Injury Wed. Status
Alex Carrington DT Knee DNP
Damian Williams WR Hamstring DNP
Lamarcus Joyner CB Groin DNP
Cory Harkey TE Quad DNP
Jared Cook TE Back DNP
Davin Joseph G Not Injury Related DNP
Marcus Roberson CB Ankle DNP
Will Herring LB Foot DNP
James Laurinaitis LB Foot DNP
Daren Bates LB Groin Full

Don't panic. A lot of this is the grueling nature of the NFL season. The key is to see how guys are doing on Friday and then cross your fingers they don't exacerbate those injuries during the game. The big name for me is Laurinaitis, only because he was so absolutely crucial to the defensive effort last Sunday. The severity of the injury to Cook may slide him above Laurinaitis on the concern-o-meter.

Here's what the Chargers are dealing with:

Name POS Injury Wed. Status
Ryan Carrethers DT Elbow DNP
Dwight Freeney OLB Not Injury Related DNP
Rich Ohrnberger C Back/Ankle DNP
Jahleel Addae S Concussion Full
Sean Lissemore NT Quad Full
Philip Rivers QB Chest Full
