At 31 years of age and measuring 6' 3" and 241 lbs, Will Herring has signed an undisclosed deal with the St. Louis Rams, replacing the erratic Ray Ray Armstrong. The erratic seems to be getting replaced with the enigmatic however. This guy is a ghost.
His stats are not too shabby for a guy who has seen limited playing time. 144 total tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 1 sack in 7 seasons. Like Armstrong, he has primarily been a special teamer. In 2012, he was a special teams captain for New Orleans...a good sign that he brings some leadership and maturity to the team. If so, the Rams could certainly use some of that.
In March of this year, he was briefly signed by the Dallas Cowboys. That deal was cancelled by the Cowboys within 24 hours, with Dallas citing injury concerns. He had already passed a physical. Looking at his track record, he hasn't missed an extraordinary amount of games.
Thankful to be joining the Rams Nation!! Time to work!
