Even the NFL is picking up on the Rams' silver linings in defeat.
The Rams have two players nominated for weekly NFL awards this week in QB Austin Davis, for the FedEx Air Player of the Week, and CB E.J. Gaines, for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week.
You can vote for Davis here and for Gaines here.
Davis is going up against Peyton Manning and Drew Brees for the QB award, a clear indication of how well Austin is playing. To be mentioned in the same category as two surefire future Hall of Famers is in and of itself an accomplishment for Davis.
As for Gaines, he's one of five rookies up for the weekly award, going up against Branden Oliver, K'Waun Williams, Odell Beckham, Jr., and Sammy Watkins. It too is a fair reflection of how well he's stepped up in the absence of Trumaine Johnson and Brandon McGee.
So while we're still smarting from a tough loss, there are reasons to think this team can lean on the talent across the roster to pull out of a 1-3 start.
