Barron, the #7 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has gotten his career off to a fine start in Tampa, making the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2012.
The larger question is how he'll fit into the Rams' defense moving forward. As a powerful safety who's well-built at 6'2", 213 lbs., he's likely taking over for Rodney McLeod to play alongside T.J. McDonald. For a defense that's loaded with hitters even in the secondary such as LaMarcus Joyner, Barron's physicality should be a great complement to the rest of the unit.
