New game week = new round of practices = new injury report = new worry wrinkles.
Name | POS | Injury | Practice Status |
William Hayes | DE | Illness | DNP |
T.J. McDonald | S | Concussion | DNP |
Kenny Britt | WR | Ankle | DNP |
Janoris Jenkins | CB | Knee | DNP |
Rodger Saffold | G | Knee | DNP |
Tim Barnes | C | Shoulder | DNP |
Jo-Lonn Dunbar | LB | Toe | Limited |
Trumaine Johnson | CB | Knee | Limited |
Brandon McGee | CB | Foot | Full |
Ethan Westbrooks | DE | Hand | Full |
So we've got a couple to watch now. Though we're not clear on the severity of Hayes and McDonald's issues, I'd expect both to be ready to go. It's the four others who sat out yesterday that warrant greater concern. We'll just have to see if/when they're able to increase the practice workload this week ahead of Sunday's game. Of course Barnes was already dealing with the shoulder last week and was classified as "doubtful" against Seattle, so he's the only one of the three dealing with a something carried over from before.
Tru sounds like he's close. The official team practice report had the following:
Johnson said after practice that he’s continuing to progress as makes his way back from the knee injury suffered against Cleveland in the penultimate game of the preseason.
"Big confidence factor, just being out there today, going through the motions, going through the scout team," Johnson said. "I’ve felt better every week -- better every day."
Of course the question here is how Head Coach Jeff Fisher and Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams are going to deal with a full cornerback stable. If Jenkins is able to make it back for Sunday, it will be the first game this season in which the Rams have had all six corners available. With the ascendance of E.J. Gaines, it'll be interesting to see how the coaching staff decides to plug the corner personnel in, especially after Marcus Roberson got his first meaningful defensive work of the year.
Today's practice is from 3:50-6 pm CT.
