In a somewhat expected move, the Rams waived WR Austin Pettis. He's been the odd man out in the WR rotation this year, culminating with him not dressing for Sundays win vs. Seattle. Stedman Bailey's return and expanding role (see punt return yesterday) combined the fact that Pettis doesn't play much special teams ultimately doomed him.
It's hard to stick around as a 6th WR when you don't contribute on special teams. Pettis, one of the few remaining holdovers from the Spags/Devaney era, will likely not have an issue finding a roster spot on another team...which is refreshing when you consider where the Rams were as recently as 2012 offseason.
The Rams also released WR Emory Blake from the practice squad.
It's worth pointing out this tweet from ESPN Rams blogger Nick Wagoner:
League source tells me that Pettis and practice squad WR Emory Blake were late for a team activity over the weekend.

Welp...
The Rams have not yet announced a corresponding roster move.
