Are We Being Too Hard On Our Defensive Line ?

We all know that last year we averaged sacking the opposing QB 3.25 per game, this year, were at 0.2 per game. A BIG drop off, 3 less per game, essentially zero per game. Not excluding myself, there have been a lot of complaints about the Rams overall performance, specifically the D-line.

I need to ask, are we being fair in regards to the D-line and the Rams in general ? I'm 100 % aware that the refs can't be blamed for everything, they didn't give up an 80 TD with 14 seconds remaining in the half, or offer up their personal interpretation of the butt fumble, etc, etc. Yet, football is still pretty much a game of inches. One play here or there can make a difference. No team, no matter how good, wins every play, you win some and lose some. The key is to win more in the course of the game. It seems the refs are consistently handing the other teams a few play advantage per game. That can make all the difference. In the individual player battles in the NFL, the difference between one player beating his opponent or losing is tiny, players look for any minute advantage. If a blocker is getting away with holding his opponent, plain and simple, the victory is his.

All of us have been unjustly accused in our life, it's nerve racking. It seems we're doing that to the Rams right now. Maybe not, maybe the heavy admonishments are appropriate. So I ask you TST, are we blaming the Rams and our D-line more than is justified ?
